Lisa Shiota
Lisa Shiota, clarinet, received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University and a Master of MusicĀ degree from the University of Michigan. Her teachers include Rosalind Erwin, Loren Kitt, and Fred Ormand.
A native of suburban Philadelphia, she developed a love of chamber music playing woodwind quintets at the Settlement Music School under the tutelage of Shirley Curtiss. Lisa has performed in venues throughout the Philadelphia area, including at the Church of the Holy Trinity.
She has taught private lessons at Suburban Music School in Media, PA, and at the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently a librarian specializing in music at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.
